Math Ref Math Ref Android Update
Sunday, August 29, 2010 at 7:30PM We just updated the Android version of Math Ref and Math Ref Free. This was a minor update fixing a few crash bugs and typos, as well as adding some new content. We're working on a brand new version of both the Android and iOS versions of the app. Giving the app a new look and feel with some amazing new features. This update won't be ready until around November, as we're in the middle of a new project for both platforms. Here's the QR code for both versions:
On top of all that we're still working on our new site and there will be more info on that later. Thanks again everyone for all your support and we promise to impress you with the next full update to our apps.
Math Ref New Math Ref iPad Video
Monday, August 9, 2010 at 11:46AM We just posted a video of the new version of Math Ref that we're submitting to Apple today. It goes over some of the features we've added and shows off the new iPad User Interface that can be seen in the images in the previous post. We'd love to know what everyone thinks about this change, we think it's a huge improvement over the last version so give us your opinion. The iPhone version is getting some love too, we updated the images for the Retina display and gave it the same Copy/Paste functionality as the iPad. Along with that we did some bug fixing so hopefully there aren't anymore weird display issues. Feel free to comment below, to the left, or via Twitter or Facebook. If you're following us on Twitter or a Fan of us on Facebook, the links to the left make it easy to do that. That's all for now, have a great week everyone!
Math Ref New Math Ref for iOS on the way
Saturday, August 7, 2010 at 9:22PM Great news! The new version of Math Ref for the iOS is just about finished and we will be submitting to Apple on Monday. This update is mainly for the iPad, which needed some UI work. We received a lot of feedback from our users on what was wrong with the old version and worked with a few of them to fix it up. A big special thanks to Jeff and Edward for that. Check out the screen shots below to see what an improvement this new version is. We'll be posting a video of the new iPad version in action later this weekend so everyone can get a chance to see it in action.
On top of a revised UI and a rewrite of a lot of the code we've also added some Copy and Paste functionality too. Now if you're looking at an equation, note or example and you want to copy it to mms to someone, email or whatever you'll now be able to. Simply go to the equation, press the new copy button and the image or text depending on what you're looking at will be stored in your clipboard. Go to another application such as Mail and paste the equation into your email. Now you can share the content of Math Ref with anyone you want. This was just one of many user requested features we're trying to tackle. You guys really are helping us make an amazing app and we can't thank you enough for it.
Speaking of feature requests, we do get a lot and have started doing a much better job of tracking them. In the coming weeks we're going to be working on the site. There will be a new section where you guys can see what we're working on and when we're planning to have it finished. It's like a Math Ref roadmap. New features, and our current errata list will go there for a little more transperancy into our update process.
Math Ref Math Ref Android Update
Friday, July 2, 2010 at 11:52AM Just a heads up on the Android version of Math Ref. The app is finished, but we're going to do one more day of testing before adding to the Marketplace tonight. Here's a couple screenshots of the app. Thanks to everyone for your support and patience while we've been getting this up and running.
Well, back to the new iPad UI, you guys are going to love it! Can't wait to show it off sometime around the end of the month. If you have any questions or comments, just leave them below, using the form to the left or find us on Twitter or Facebook.
Have a great weekend everyone!
Math Ref Math Ref Android
Saturday, June 26, 2010 at 6:20PM Great news, Math Ref Android v1.0 is done! We're going to be doing some testing and polishing before we submit it to the Marketplace on 1-July. We're really excited to have had the chance to work with such a great platform and we hope to get some feedback from you guys when it's available for download. There are some differences between the iPhone version and the Android version currently and we're working to make those changes for the next revision. The two differences are the Search and Favorites features. These sadly didn't make it into this version, however just like the iPhone, you can expect them in version 2. We're sorry we couldn't make these two happen, but we'll get it fixed for sure. We'll try and post a video next week showing off the app to get some initial feedback.
Now in iOS news, with the Android version completed we're back to focusing on our iPad and errata fixes. We've got a great new UI that we'll be showing off soon, as well as fixing an image bug that was causing some of the images on the iPad to use the iPhone lower resolution. This means no more blurry images on the iPad or the iPhone 4. We know we have a lot of work to do to make up for the current version for you iPad users and we're going to do our best. We'll be posting some videos of the new UI around the first or second week of July and would love some feedback before we submit to Apple.
That's all for now and thank you everyone for your support and for all the great questions and comments that we receive daily. If there's anything you'd like to say let us know by commenting below, emailing us using the form to the left or checking us out on Twitter or Facebook.
Have a great week everyone!
Math Ref
