The video below shows the new search feature in action and also the new layout. We've implemented search so it not only looks through the names of the equations, but also the text that accompanies some of the equations. The results from the search are put into the table below the search bar and by selecting any of the equations that pop up you can get to the new layout. Once in the new layout you can now zoom in and out of the equations and simply double tap the equation to reset the zoom.</p>

<p>We're working now on finishing the Grafly support and the new sections so hopefully the update will be ready soon. We'll keep you posted on all of this as we progress through the development cycle, but we were so happy with this requested feature we wanted to share it with you all. Feel free to leave comments below or to email us using the form to the left. The problem is we haven't finished our Android version yet. Yep, the screen shots below are not from our app, but from someone who took our content and made it. While we think this is incredibly flattering that someone did this, it's actually a bit of a problem for us. The biggest problem is that we can't control the quality of this app and we can't provide updates to the users. Also, if we get an email regarding the app or a problem with it, we can't provide any support and that's just not fair to you guys who expect that from us. The second issue we have with this is that in one screen shot you can see some advertising. We purposely removed the advertising from Math Ref and Math Ref Free because the community asked us to and for good reason. So for us, seeing those ads is like a slap at our users. Lastly, and the obvious issue we have is that someone completely stole our app. This isn't a pirating issue, that happens, people crack the app and we move on, not the end of the world. This on the other hand is someone stealing our content and calling it their own.</p>
<p>We are working on an Android version for both Math Ref and Math Ref Free. However, we're trying to get the next major update of the two out first before we finish this up. We'll post to the site letting you all know when it's ready, and we'll be providing details about the process of converting the app from the iPhone OS to Android OS.</p>

The old style didn't allow for zooming of the equations. Currently, when you tap on an equation (for most equations) some notes appear and you have two buttons: favorite and close. We wanted to give you more content on a per equation basis, so we decided on a redesign, which can be seen below.</p>

<div align="center">
<span class="full-image-block ssNonEditable"><span><img src="http://www.happymaau.com/storage/NewView.png?__SQUARESPACE_CACHEVERSION=1263075206312" alt="" /></span></span>
</div>

<br />

<p>Explanation of tabs:</p>

<p>Equation Tab: This tab allows you to see the equation close up and supports zooming via multi-touch. To reset the zoom simply double tap on the equation.</p>

<p>Notes Tab: This displays more information on the equation when selected.</p>

<p>Examples Tab: We wanted to provide a way for us to start adding more examples to the app. We're in the process of adding examples to every equation. Now this won't be immediate and a lot of the equations won't have examples, however, with every update more examples will be added until just about every equation has one.</p>

<p>Favorites Tab: This allows you to save the equation to the Favorites section for quick reference of your most used equations.</p>

<p>Grafly: This button allows you to plot some of the equations in Grafly if you have it installed on your device. For instance, in this image the equation you see there could be plotted in Grafly for you to see and move about in 3D. Pretty sweet huh.</p>

<p>Well, that's it for the new layout. We're still working on this massive new update and thank you for your patience and support. The big update, Math Ref v2.2 (http://bit.ly/2rMgO8) is out on the App Store and Math Ref Free v2.2 is under review as of today. Now that this update is out, we're already working on the details regarding the next one. In our previous post we talked about what we have planned for the update:</p>
<div>New Feature:</div>
<div>-Searching!</div>
<div>&nbsp</div>
<div>New Section:</div>
<div>-Algorithms and Data Structures</div>
<div>-Financial formulas</div>
<div>-Real Estate formulas</div>
<div>&nbsp</div>
<div>Additional Content:</div>
<div>-Differential Equations</div>
<div>-Series and Sequences</div>
<div>&nbsp</div>
<div>On top of that, there are two things that users have been requesting. The first is some way to zoom in on the equations and the second is more examples. With respect to the first, the way the app is currently set up we can't do this. And as for the second, the app would crash everytime if we tried to load all the equations for one subject in the Examples section. So, to fix both these problems we're reworking how we display the equations. Currently when you press on an equation a view comes up with some information about the equation. This view also includes the favorites button. The new way this will work is when you press on an equation a new view is pushed over that includes some tab buttons: Back, Equation, Notes, Example and Favorite. Back will take you back to the equation list. Equation will show the equation in a view that will let you zoom in, out and pan around it. Notes will give a scrollable text view to read the notes easier. Example will work like the equations button. This will help you zoom in and really see the longer examples better. The other benefit of this is that we can now have an example for just about every equation. Lastly, is the Favorite button it will let you favorite the equation you're looking at. We think this new setup and the features above are going to be an amazing addition to an already great app and we hope you guys love it when we get it done.&nbsp;</div>
<div>&nbsp</div>
<div>As always, we love feedback so let us know what you think and if there's something we should also be including in the next update. Leave either a comment below of use the form to the left to email us. Thanks for your support, we couldn't do any of this without all of you.&nbsp;</div>

<div>It's come to our attention in the past few days that there was a bug in Math Ref that was causing a crash for those using iPhone OS 3.1.2. We just submitted an update to Apple that should fix this bug and we are extremely sorry to our users who have experienced this issue.&nbsp;</div>
<div>&nbsp;</div>
<div>This update is not the massive update we've been working on, but rather a patch update to fix this crash issue. However, along with this fix we've also taken some time to fix some typos and add a bit of clarification to a few equations. We are still hard at work on the major update and it should be ready for submission by the end of the month. We're sorry for this issue and for the delay the major update has taken us.</div>
